Our History

“We improve the quality of life by providing the finest in vision care for people of all ages in our community”

Established in 1996, the eye care clinic began when Dr. Brett Marchand and Dr. Liana Cooper (Optometrists) moved from Victoria, British Columbia to Lindsay, Ontario. After graduation from the University of Waterloo School of Optometry in 1993, they spent 3 years practicing in Victoria, BC. After marrying in 1995, they decided to return back home to Ontario to be closer to family. The clinic began when they assumed the practice of Dr. Paul Dowdall of Lindsay. The small clinic resided in a home – converted office space on Cambridge St. North. To begin with, Brett and Liana worked alternating days in the office with 2 staff members to help. The practice grew steadily as did their family over the next several years.

In 2005, Brett and Liana began to plan for expansion. Over the next two years they planned and found opportunity to create the office space in which their Optometry Clinic is housed today. This approximate 4000 sq.ft. facility was completed by all local contractors in the spring of 2007, and the clinic was opened to patients July 2nd, 2007. This new facility provided them with much needed space for their expanding staff, eye care services, and eye wear dispensary. The clinic continued to expand with the addition of their first associate, Dr. Carolyn Kwiat in the fall of 2007 (who moved to the Hamilton area in 2014). Dr. Mark Mucci joined in January 2013, Dr. Nicole Love in the fall of 2016 and Dr. Zach Findlay in August 2018.

Office Closure

Due to the Covid19 pandemic the Ontario Government and College of Optometrists of Ontario mandated several days ago that all Optometry services are to be suspended with the exception of emergency services to support the health care system. However, we are still here to support our patients and community.

With regards to Emergencies and booked appointments we have…

*Set up an Emergency triage system that is checked several times daily. (Contacts Below)

*Contacting all patients with upcoming booked appointments to create rescheduling lists.

We can still support some of your eye care needs…

*Refill Contact Lens Orders – (shipped no charge directly to your front door)

*Refill Dry Eye Products (packaged, and “doorstep pickup” at specific arranged time)

The Lines of Communication are still open and monitored several times daily. If you have any questions or concerns, please reach out and we will return your message as soon as we can.
